Porto Alegre (Brazil): Gabriel Jesus struck twice as Brazil fine-tuned their preparations for the Copa America with a 7-0 win over Honduras on Sunday.
Thiago Silva, Philippe Coutinho, David Neres, Roberto Firmino and Richarlison also netted for the hosts at Estadio Beira-Rio in the southern Brazilian city of Porto Alegre.
The visitors were forced to play most of the match with only 10 men after Romell Quioto was shown a straight red card for a two-footed tackle on Arthur just before the half hour mark.
Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho earned his second consecutive man of the match award following his impressive display in Brazil’s 2-0 win over Qatar last Wednesday.
Most of the South American team’s best attacking moves involved the former Liverpool playmaker, who again relished a central midfield role with the Selecao.

“We feel like we’re improving with every match and today’s performance was better than the one against Qatar,” Coutinho said after the match.
Brazil didn’t appear to miss talismanic forward Neymar, who was ruled out of the Copa America after suffering an ankle ligament injury against Qatar.
The Selecao will kick off the continental tournament against Bolivia in Sao Paulo on Friday.
It took just six minutes for Brazil to open the scoring against the Central American team, with Jesus heading in after Dani Alves and Richarlison combined skilfully on the right flank.
Former Selecao captain Thiago Silva doubled the hosts’ advantage by glancing in a header following Coutinho’s corner to the near post.
Richarlison was then trampled upon by Emilio Izaguirre and referee Andres Cunha did not hesitate to award a penalty. Coutinho coolly converted from the spot as Brazil took a 3-0 lead.
Manchester City striker Jesus netted his second goal on the stroke of halftime, latching onto Richarlison’s headed flick and lashing in with his left foot from a tight angle.
Neres scored his first goal for Brazil, poking in from close range following Felipe Luis’s precise through ball. Firmino, a 55th-minute replacement for Jesus, then deftly lofted a shot over goalkeeper Luis Lopez to make it 6-0.
Richarlison completed the rout in the 70th minute by turning in Everton’s cross from the right with 10 minutes remaining.

Messi ‘made me better player’, says Ronaldo
Lisbon: Cristiano Ronaldo admitted on Wednesday his long-time rivalry with Lionel Messi has made him “a better player” and that he enjoys a healthy rivalry with the Argentine great. football match international
However, Portuguese star Ronaldo, whose influence at Real Madrid mirrored that of Messi at Barcelona before he left for Juventus, admitted that the pair have never socialised together. indian super cup
“I really admire the career he has had and from his side, he has already talked of the disappointment when I left Spain because it was a rivalry that he appreciated,” Ronaldo told TVI in Portugal.
“It’s a good rivalry but it’s not unique Michael Jordan had rivalries in basketball, there was Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost in Formula 1. The thing they all had in common is that they were healthy rivalries.” Ronaldo and Messi have won the coveted Ballon d’Or five times each, a factor that helps each player flourish.
“I have no doubt that Messi has made me a better player and vice-versa. When I am winning trophies it must sting him and it’s the same for me when he wins,” he said.
Mohun Bagan enter Durand Cup final, East Bengal beaten in semis
Kolkata: VP Suhair came off the bench to score an extra-time brace as Mohun Bagan defeated a gritty Real Kashmir 3-1 to set up a summit clash with Gokulam Kerala in the 129th Durand Cup in Kolkata on Wednesday.
In the other semi-final, Gokulam Kerala FC stunned East Bengal to book their place in the final, winning 3-2 on penalties after the first semi-final was tied 1-1 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan.
Much like the first semi-final in which Gokulam Kerala scripted a stunning turnaround in the second-half stoppage time against East Bengal, Real Kashmir struck the equaliser in the 93rd minute to cancel Salva Chamorro’s first-half goal and force the match into extra-time. football match international football news
But it turned out to be a tale of two Keralites in the two thrilling semi-finals. First it was CK Ubaid who produced two stunning saves in the penalty shoot-out against East Bengal. football match international football news
Next it was former Gokulam Kerala forward Suhair who struck a double in the 93rd and 112nd minutes to seal a final berth in the oldest Asian club football tournament for a record 29th time. football match international football news
Earlier, Salva Chamorro broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute after captain Gurjinder Kumar took a turn towards his right to set it up with his left foot for the Spaniard to shoot in front of the goal.

With a minute left in the stoppage time, Real Kashmir captain Loveday Enyinnaya set up the ball from the midfield and it was their Ivorian forward Gnohore Krizo who slotted it home to stun the Mohun Bagan supporters.

However, Mohun Bagan did not take long to restore their lead when Suhair, who had come in place of Romario Jesuraj in the 68th minute, showed fine composure to finish it well. Credit should also be given to Fran Gonzalez who bisected the loose Real Kashmir defence with a measured pass to Suhair on the right flank.
In the 10th minute of extra-time, Fran Morante made a superb goalline save from a well-connected Vicky Meitei shot as Mohun Bagan held on to their lead. Suhair then sealed the game with his powerful strike after receiving a perfectly-timed pass from Gonzalez.
Mohun Bagan controlled the possession and the Snow Leopards hardly got any chance barring two free-kicks. The home team got their first real opportunity in the 14th minute with Joseba Beitia in the attack but the Spaniard’s shot from an acute angle was saved by a flying Real Kashmir goalkeeper Phurba Lanchepa.

Beitia got another chance in the 35th minute when he made a nice turn in front of the goal but only to shoot it wide.
In the second-half, Mohun Bagan wasted another golden opportunity when Romario Jesuraj found himself in a one-on-one position with Lachenpa but only to be off target.
Subhas Singh’s free kick went over the target in the 24th minute after Chesterpoul Lyngdoh was brought down by a Mohun Bagan defender. Real Kashmir’s star forward Danish Farooq had a lean day, failing to find the target on more than one occasion.
