Santiago: India’s number-two doubles player Divij Sharan, along with his doubles partner Artem Sitak from New Zealand, progressed to the quarterfinals of Dove Men+ Care Open in Santiago, Chile.
The third-seeded Indo-Kiwi pair defeated the Brazilian duo of Thiago Monteiro and Fernando Romboli in straight sets 7-6, 7-6
Sharan & Sitak played confidently right from the start. With a few aces up their sleeves and points from the first serve and second serve, Sharan & Sitak smoothly sealed their quarterfinal berth.
The Indo-Kiwi duo will now face Spaniards Roberto Carballes Beena and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
“Every win is sweet but when that win comes against tough opponents it just feels sweeter,” said Sharan.
