Kolkata: ATK Mohun Bagan goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya’s mother Antara succumbed to Covid-19 on Monday after a two-week battle.
The 2020-21 Indian Super League (ISL) Golden Glove winner’s mother was admitted to a Kolkata hospital.
Arindam made himself unavailable for ATK Mohun Bagan’s AFC Cup campaign in the Maldives owing to his 62-year-old mother’s ill health.
But on Sunday the tournament’s matches in Male was postponed indefinitely after a Covid protocol breach by Bengaluru FC.
Two Bagan players – Prabir Das and Sk Sahil – have also tested positive for coronavirus.
