New Delhi: Suresh Raina has urged Punjab Police not to spare those who slaughtered his uncle.

Raina’s uncle Ashok Kumar was killed after an attack by robbers in Punjab’s Pathankot district on the on the night intervening August 19 and 20.

The attack had also left four family members, including his aunt and cousins, with serious injuries.
Raina hastily left the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp in UAE last week.

His sudden departure and unavailability for the IPL 2020 led to many speculation with CSL owner N Srinivasan caling him a ‘prima donna’ and hinting that a row over hotel rooms could be the actual reason for his exit.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IPL 13 will be played across the three venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in the UAE from September 19 to November 10.

Raina took to Twitter on Tuesday to raise concerns about the robbery in his uncle’s home.

“What happened to my family is Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had sever injuries. Unfortunately my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very very critical & is on life support,” Raina tweeted.

“Till date we don’t know what exactly had happened that night & who did this. I request @PunjabPoliceInd to look into this matter. We at least deserve to know who did this heinous act to them. Those criminals should not be spared to commit more crimes. @capt_amarinder @CMOPb,” he added.

The police believe members of the notorious “Kale Kachhewala” gang were behind the robbery in Raina’s uncle’s home.
