New Delhi: Dabang Delhi coach Krishan Kumar Hooda believes that no team can survive without a coach, whose responsibility is to focus on improving the technique of its players and plot effective strategies for the team.
“The coach plays an important role in a team. The main work of the coach is to instruct the team and improve the overall performance of the team,” Hooda told Sports Lounge.
“As a coach, I share my experiences and techniques to the team. The coach is the only one who maintains everything and takes the team to another level,” he added.
Dabang Delhi (49 points from 11 matches) is currently leading the Pro Kabaddi League points table, while Haryana Steelers (41 points from 9 matches) is second and Bengal Warriors (40 from 12 games) is third.
Hooda also said that he does extensive research of his team’s opponents before a game, hoping to find chinks in the opposition’s armour.latest sports news in english
“Before any match, the team analyses the video footage of the opponent team, their strategies and movement which help them to prepare well. It is an important part of our meeting.
“We have videos of each and every matches of our team and other teams. We cut the video in different parts and discuss it with our team,” he added.
“As a coach, I explain them the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent teams and the team also expresses their views about the video and the match.”
According to the Hooda, he is satisfied with the performance of the team so far in the tournament. Last year, Delhi lost in the semifinals.
But Hooda believes that they will go one better this time and reach the final, where they will give their all to win.
Dabang Delhi’s next match in the PKL is against Haryana Steelers on September 7.
