Gautam Gambhir congratulates IDCA for organising the National Zonal Championship ahead of Deaf ICC Word Cup 2022

New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer and the Member of Parliament Gautam Gambhir has shown his support and congratulated the Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) for organising the 50-over National Zonal Championship league scheduled to take place between March 1st- 5th, 2021. The tournament will witness talents across India compete for the championship title.

This prestigious tournament is a stepping stone for all the participants to fulfil their dreams of representing their nation at the international level as their performances in this tournament will define their chances to represent India in the much anticipated Deaf ICC World Cup to be held in Dubai in 2022.

“I am proud of the initiative taken by the Deaf Cricket Association of India to promote cricket and for introducing the National Zonal Championship tournament prior to the Deaf ICC World Cup 2022. This tournament is important for the players as their performance will be a critical aspect in their selection. I wish all the teams and the Deaf Cricket Association of India all the best for theupcoming World Cup,” said Gautam Gambhir, Member of Parliament, East Delhi & Former Indian Cricketer.

The tournament, apart from the golden opportunity for selection to the World Cup, will also hand over a handsome prize money for various award categories. The winning team will get a cash reward of INR 1,00,001 while the runner-up team will be awarded a cash prize of INR 50,001.

There are prizes for various other categories such as Man of the Series, Best Bowler & Best Batsmen in the series and finally Man of the Series.
