IDCA to organise the 2nd ODI zonal cricket championship league for deaf

New Delhi: The Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) affiliated & recognised by the Deaf International Cricket Council (DICC) will organise the 2nd ODI National Zone Cricket Championship league for the deaf from 1st to 5th March 2021.

The 50-over tournament to be held in New Delhi will witness deaf cricketing talent from across the country competing for the championship title.

Besides victory, the tournament will also be of extreme importance to the players as their performance during this tournament will also get them a chance to be part of the Deaf ICC ODI World Cup 2021 to be held in UAE between Oct-Nov 2021.

The tournament will also hand over handsome prize money for various categories of awards. The ‘Champion Winner’ team will get a cash reward of Rs 1,00,001 while the ‘Runner-up’ team will be given a cash prize of Rs 50,001.

The Man of the Series will be given Rs 5,100, the Best Bowler & Best Batsmen would be given Rs 2500 per match and the Man of the Match will be given a cash prize of Rs 1100 per match.

On this occasion, IDCA president Sumit Jain said: “We are really excited to be hosting this tournament. This will be the best platform for all cricketing talent in Indi to come and showcase themselves. This tournament will definitely encourage the Indian players and give them the confidence to play at the International level.”

“This will be an important test for all our players as the team for DICC World Cup 2021 will be chosen from among these players. This is their opportunity to reserve a spot in Team India for the World Cup. I would like to wish each player the very best.” he added.

Registration for the tournament starts from 15th September 2020.
