Sydney: Ravindra Jadeja is likely to be ruled out of the remainder of Test series with a thumb injury.

The India all-rounder has sustained a left thumb fracture and dislocation in the ongoing 3rd Test in Sydney.

Jadeja was hit on his thumb by a Mitchell Starc bouncer on Day 3 of the Sydney Test.

Jadeja continued to bat with tapis on his left hand and remained unbeaten but he did not take the field during the final session on Saturday when Australia batted in their 2nd innings.

Jadeja may be sidelined for a month to six weeks which will rule him out of the 4th Test, starting January 15.

However, wicketkeepeer Rishabh Pant is likely to take the field on Day 5 after taking a blow to his elbow.

He is still in pain but scans have shown no signs of fracture.
