IPL 2020: Dhoni, Raina touch down in Chennai for CSK camp

New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni reached Chennai on Friday to attend a preparatory camp for the upcoming 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Apart from Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Deepak Chahar, Pyush Chawala, Kedar Jadhav and Karn Sharma also touched down at the southern city.

The CSK players will attend a five day pre-season training camp at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium starting from August 15.

The Tamil Nadu government had given written permission to the Super Kings to conduct the camp at the Chepauk, behind closed doors.

The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) kept the ground and the practice net facilities at the Chepauk.

Promiment names missing the camp are Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh and Shardul Tahkur. The trio will be missing the camp because of personal commitments.

The three-time champion will take around 10 bowlers to the UAE, with an equal mix of pacers and spinners.

All the team’s cricketers will assemble in Chennai before the team leaves for Dubai.

All the cricketers and support staffs have been asked to have COVID-19 tests done at home before reaching Chennai.

Dhoni too underwent Covid19 test in Ranchi and his results were negative.

The 13th edition of the IPL will be played in the UAE from September 19.
