Mumbai: Delhi Capitals pacer Anrich Nortje from South Africa on Wednesday tested positive for Covid-19, according to reports.

Nortje is not the first cricketer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to test positive for the virus this season.

The likes of Nitish Rana, Axar Patel, Daniel Sams and Devdutt Padikkal are some of the names who have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Other than them, many members of the Wankhede Stadium ground staff too were infected.

Nortje is the second DC player after all-rounder Axar Patel to have tested positive.

Nortje flew in to India along with fellow paceman Kagiso Rabada is reportedly asymptomatic at the moment with results of a further test awaited later on Wednesday.

He had tested negative on his arrival in India and seemed to have developed the virus during quarantine.

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Devdutt Padikkal and Daniel Sams had also tested positive along with Mumbai Indians’ wicket-keeping consultant and talent scout Kiran More.
