Chennai: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 38 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday.
Chasing 205 runs, KKR stopped at 166/8.
Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers propelled Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to a score of 204/4 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Maxwell scored 78 off 49 balls before de Villiers helped RCB take 70 runs off the last five overs, smashing an unbeaten 76 off just 34 balls. The two innings helped RCB survive a shaky start to the innings as they lost captain Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar in the first two overs.
Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and chose to bat against KKR.
RCB decided to play with only three overseas players as the side dropped Australia’s Dan Christian for Rajat Patidar.
The KKR, meanwhile, have made no changes in the XI which faced Mumbai Indians in the side’s previous game.
