Margao: NorthEast United beat table-toppers Mumbai City 2-1 in an Indian Super League (ISL) clash at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim.

Deshorn Brown’s first-half double (6′ and 10′) was enough to see Mumbai off, despite Adam Le Fondre pulling back a late goal.

The win was NEUFC’s new coach Khalid Jamil’s third in three games.

NorthEast United have jumped into the top 4, with 21 points in 14.

They play FC Goa next on Feb 4. Mumbai remain top with 30 points in 14, and play Kerala Blasters next on Feb 3.
