Barcelona: FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi has become football’s second billionaire after Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi has earned $1billion in pre-tax earnings during his career, as per Forbes. The Argentine is 2020’s highest earning footballer, earning $126million (£98million).

He drew a salary of $92million (£72million) plus $34million (£26million) in endorsements.

Ronaldo of Juventus ($117 million) is second on the list, followed by Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar ($96 million) and Kylian Mbappe ($42 million).

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah ($37 million) is fifth, ahead of Manchester United’s Paul Pogba ($34 million),.

Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann ($33 million), Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale ($29 million), Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski ($28 million) and Manchester United’s David De Gea ($27 million) complete the top 10 list.
