London: England have named two 15-member squads for their white-ball series against South Africa, beginning 27 November.

While the T20I squad is at full-strength, England have rested Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Sam Curran for the ODI matches.

Apart from these three, Chris Jordan and Dawid Malan have only been selected in the T20I squad while Joe Root, Chris Woakes, Olly Stone, Lewis Gregory and Liam Livingstone have just been included for the ODIs.

Reece Topley, who earned a recall to play the ODI series against Ireland earlier this year, has been added in both squads. Notable omissions include right-handed batsman Joe Denly, who played in the T20I series against Australia and fast bowler Saqib Mahmood, who featured in three ODIs and three T20Is during the England summer. Leg-spinner Matt Parkinson has also been overlooked.

England have also named three reserve players in the form of Jake Ball, Tom Banton and Tom Helm. Ball last played in England colours in 2018 while Banton was a part of England’s limited-overs squads during the summer. Meanwhile, 26-year-old Helm is the only uncapped player in the list.

England will travel to Cape Town on 16 November and will play one intra-squad 50-over match on 21 November, followed by two T20 intra-squad matches in Paarl. The T20I series will be played between 27 November and 1 December, while the ODI series will take place from 4 December to 9 December.
